SAYiT has been proudly supporting LGBT+ young people in Sheffield for almost twenty years.
Following a comprehensive review of the services we provide, we have recognised the need to focus more on developing young people’s leadership skills and enabling them to build a greater sense of empowerment – whilst continuing to offer access to traditional support groups and one-to-ones which our young people tell us they still need.
Many of our young people experience complex issues such as mental health difficulties due to LGBT+ phobia and discrimination.
We are seeking two passionate and enthusiastic youth worker/youth participation workers who are committed to working collaboratively with LGBT+ young people and to engaging with harder to reach LGBT+ young people who are further disadvantaged by economic inequalities, disabilities or identifying as people of colour. We want to attract workers who will take creative and transformative approaches to working with young LGBT+ people up to the age of 25 years – working with them to identify, focus upon and build on their strengths and assets.
