National Diversity Awards 2020

On Friday 17th September 2021, Oliver and Heather from SAYiT attended the long awaited National Diversity Awards 2020 ceremony at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.

The SAYiT Noah Lomax fund was shortlisted for the Community Organisation Award in the Age category. SAYiT CEO Heather was shortlisted for the Positive Role Model Award in the LGBT category. Whilst we didn’t win either award, it was an honour to be shortlisted amongst such great projects and people and to be invited to such a positive and uplifting environment for the evening. The winners in our shortlisted categories were, respectively; Skylarks, an independent, parent-led charity focussing on providing support for young people with disabilities and Laks Mann, a Metropolitan Police LGBT+ Network Executive Committee member specialising in intersectionality and community engagement. All shortlisted nominees for each award on the night are winners and true leaders in shaping our country for the better.

We would like to thank Noah’s brilliant family for approaching us about starting this project in 2018 and also everyone who has helped fundraise, volunteered and worked alongside us, in the loving memory of Noah, to help transform the lives of LGBT+ young people.
