IDAHoBIT 2023

Come join us on 17th May 2023 for International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHoBiT). It's aim is to coordinate international events that raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights violations and stimulate interest in LGBTQ+ rights work worldwide.

Wendesday, 17 May 2023 at 18:00 Sheffield Winter Gardens, S1 2LH

The date of May 17 was specifically chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder.

For over 10 years, Sheffield has held a public rally on IDAHoBiT culminating in a ‘1 minute noise’. This idea of noise as opposed to silence has been adopted by other cities in the UK and in other countries. (whistles and ear plugs will be available)

Join us as we stand up against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.

There will be contributions from a range of LGBTQ+ organisations and individuals with a variety of public speakers and contributors.
